Miss Scotland was among the 122 Miss World hopefuls who visited Edinburgh Castle last October. But it was so cold up there that we think these girls got the headgear just right!

Free newspapers and magazines are now de rigeur. The Metro is one of the most successful newspapers with its captive audiences on trains and buses attracting sufficient advertising revenue to make it viable. Shortlist is a free mag for guys, and now for us girls there is the sparkly new Stylist. We picked up a copy of the second week's edition at Edinburgh airport. It is seriously good - and as the editorial claims it is an inspiring magazine for women who are tired of reading about celebrity foibles or unflattering paparazzi shots. Go get one today! It is full of useful and interesting reading. It is available in London Brighton Leeds Manchester Glasgow and Birmingham, as well as in French Connection.
