Put on your dancing clothes

The Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh have just had a makeover. 

It cost the council £9.3m to renovate the  civic space, and when they were reopened in July these Irish dancers from the Haughey McAuleyAcademy of Irish Dance in Penicuik near Edinburgh entertained the press with their high stepping jigs. 

While the dancing was unbelievable, the costumes were even more unbelievable. The intricate stitching and design was quite simply beautiful.

Miss Worlds at Edinburgh Castle

Miss Scotland was among the 122 Miss World hopefuls who visited Edinburgh Castle last October. But it was so cold up there that we think these girls got the headgear just right!

In London the other day the cold weather seemed to bring out the fur coats. These were both old and new, worn by young and the not so young alike. Fur is back!
